The Arcadia 2001 is a home video game console manufactured by Emerson Radio Corp, which was released in 1982.
It was one of the first consoles to use the Atari 2600's hardware. It was compatible with the Atari 2600 game cartridges, and the system featured a built-in Atari 2600-compatible joystick controller. It was also one of the first consoles to have a built-in pause feature, which was activated by pressing the joystick button.
The Arcadia 2001 was not as popular as other consoles of the time like Atari 2600, and it was discontinued after a short time. The console was not widely distributed and was only available in limited markets. It had limited game library, most of the games were clones of Atari 2600's titles, with some added features like improved graphics or sound. Some of the games available for the Arcadia 2001 included: Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac-Man, Missile Command and Space Invaders Part II, among others. Overall the Arcadia 2001 was not a commercial success and it is considered a rare and collectible item today.
